PFAS Removal and Destruction
Stellar Waterworks is proud to offer the ElectroFrac system, a Stellar Waterworks solution powered by Electrolytic Technologies, designed to support a wide range of water and wastewater treatment applications. This advanced PFAS destruction and removal system is engineered to effectively eliminate both long- and short-chain PFAS compounds while maintaining low operational costs and simple, reliable operation.
Built for performance and ease of use, the ElectroFrac system provides a dependable solution for utilities and industrial operators seeking efficient PFAS treatment, regulatory compliance, and long-term system reliability.
PERFORMANCE BENEFITS:
- Enables complete mineralization of persistent contaminants
- Effectively destroys both long- and short-chain PFAS
- Reduces operational costs
- Simplifies system operation and maintenance
- Eliminates the need for additional chemicals
TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Destroys highly concentrated PFAS through electrooxidation
- Utilizes a boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode
- Targets long-chain PFAS through foam fractionation
- Leverages the natural tendency of surface-active compounds to accumulate at bubble surfaces and become captured within draining foam lamellae
from persistent contaminants to harmless minerals
We employ a two-step system to effectively destroy harmful PFAS across a variety of applications. The first stage involves foam fractionation, a separation process that targets long-chain PFAS (with carbon chains of 6 or more). This method leverages the natural tendency of surface-active compounds to accumulate at bubble surfaces and become trapped in the foam’s lamellae as it drains. This enables efficient separation based on the compounds’ surface adsorption properties.
This foam fractionation process is tailored to each customer’s specific application. In the final stage, the highly-concentrated PFAS are destroyed through electrooxidation using a high performance and purpose-built electrode, which enables the complete mineralization of persistent contaminants.
